In 1967, Tom Williams opened Industrial Machine and Supply, Inc. His first customer was Wehadkee Yarn Mills, a textile mill located in Talladega. From these humble beginnings, Tom worked to provide excellent quality OEM and replacement parts to plants and businesses throughout the South. As time went on, Tom was able to see his business and family grow. His son David began learning as a boy the complexities of machining. In the early 1990's, David stepped into the president's role. Changes in the textile industry and in machining practices soon led to less textile work and the introduction of CNC machines to IMS.
Now, our customer base extends internationally and into such industries as material handling, agriculture, automotive and consumer goods. Manufacturing OEM parts for national firms now plays a major role at Industrial Machine and Supply, Inc.
